2024 Franklin County Volleyball Fellowship Rules
Participation Limited to teams belonging to the FRANKLIN COUNTY
SOFTBALL FELLOWSHIP. The church pastor must sign the
statement of faith and practice. It is attached to these rules. You
should read it and firmly believe it.
Eligibility Player must regularly attend his team’s church
Player must attend at least one service the week prior to the game
Minimum age of 16 except at coach’s discretion
Women are permitted, but not required to participate
Tournament players must have played at least three regular season
matches, exceptions must be approved by the chairman
Attire No jewelry or metal objects may be worn. Rings must be taped.
Knee pads are strongly recommended as all the gym floors are
hard and abrasive.
Shoes must be soft sole, non-marking athletic type
Shirts must have a sleeve and be long enough to tuck in
Shorts are permitted, they must be loose-fitting
(not stretch), modest and within six inches of the knee.
Ball Must be of good quality and approved by an official volleyball
sanctioning body
Recommended brands: Tachikara, Mikasa, Molten
Tournament Double Elimination
Best of 3 Set Match (no cap on championship)

Rules Official Men’s USA Volleyball rules apply for officiating the game
6 players on the court with a minimum of 4
25 point games with rally scoring (each serve scores a point, must
win by 2, but the first to 30 wins.)
The line is in, the compression of the ball must touch it
Each team has two timeouts per game
Players must wait for the whistle before serving (if there is a ref)
Each player must play the position of rotation as per official rules
(move after the serve)
Must rotate each time the serve is earned by receiving team
Back row players may not spike in front of the attack line
Net violations are to be strictly enforced
Exceptions to violating the plane of the net are:
Block a spike
Follow through from a spike
The ball may legally hit anywhere on your body
The high net official may call for a replay
Authority Coaches are in charge of their team
High net umpire is in charge of the game
If there is not an umpire, and a disagreement arises, the point
should be replayed
Substitutions Teams may use a big circle rotation and declare their number of
players and rotation before the game. The rotation must stay in
order. You may substitute players as long as the player only
reenters for the original spot in the rotation. There is no limit to the
number of substitutions that can be made. If there is an injury, exceptions
will be made.
Serve Ground rules apply on back line (at Open Door may step on line but not over - 2018 decision)
Ball cannot be pushed or thrown
Receiving team may not block or attack the serve
Serves that hit the net and go over are good
Standard USAV rules apply, you may field the serve with an
overhead set, as long as it is not a carry.
Misconduct 1st offense: Warning and point
2nd offense: Match ejection and point, the team must finish the
game with one less player. If a player is benched for misconduct
by the coach and not by the umpire, the team does not have to play
with one less player.

Pre-game prayer and post-game devotional
Ground Rule Balls that hit the ceiling are “live” as long as they can be legally
played by the team that originated the ceiling shot
No food or beverages, except water, are permitted inside the gyms
Communication Each team is to designate an e-mail correspondent who will report
the scores from the match and their team’s record to the league
chairman after every match. The league chairman will issue
standings to the e-mail correspondents so all teams can know their
current status. Ideas or suggestions for improving the league
should be communicated to the league chairman. Most
